STUDENT DISCLOSURE ON PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE

Felbry College School of Nursing (FCSON) offers programs which lead to professional licensure. Any student  enrolling into a program  at FCSON must be aware of the required credentialing or licensing requirements necessary for employment in the field.

  • Students enrolling into the Practical Nursing program are informed of the required credential, LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) for working as an LPN in the field.
  • Students enrolling into the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Program (including One +One) are informed of the required credential, RN (Registered Nurse) for working as an RN in the field.
  • Even though the program is post licensure, students enrolling into the RN to BSN Completion program are informed of the required credential, RN (Registered Nurse) for continuing to work as an RN in the field.

FCSON’s program curricula meet state educational requirements for professional licensure in the state of Ohio. FCSON makes every effort to ensure information about educational requirements for licensure or certification is current. However, state requirements may change.

Students who satisfactory complete an FCSON program will be presented to the Ohio Board of Nursing as meeting program completion requirements necessary for taking the NCLEX examination to become licensed as an RN or LPN in the state of Ohio.

The Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Program has been placed on program specific warning due to placement rate (67%) below the 70% benchmark during the 2020 reporting period.

01/23/2023

Felbry College has been informed by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Educations Schools (“ABHES”) that it acted to withdraw program approval for the Direct Entry Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program (AASN). ABHES determined that the Direct entry AASN program did not meet the required minimum standard of 70% for placement (employment). Placement is defined as verifiable employment in the field of study (ie: RN or LPN).

All enrolled and prospective Direct entry AASN students are informed that the College is appealing the decision. Current accreditation status for this program will remain in effect during the appeal period. Please know that the College will remain focused on resolving this matter.

The College will continue to provide updates as warranted to those enrolled and prospective students about the progress on the appeal. Should you have any questions, please contact the Compliance Department at compliance@felbrycollege.edu.
